Biography

Joe Holt received his BA in political science and his MA in history from Washington College. He also completed a certificate program at the Institute for Educational Management of the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He completed the Shore Leadership Program in 1998.

After completing his undergraduate education, Mr. Holt served for five years in the Reagan Administration, serving in the Office of Presidential Personnel at the White House and as Special Assistant to the U.S. Commissioner of Social Security. After leaving government service, he served as Coordinator of Advising and Testing at Chesapeake College.

In 1991, Mr. Holt was appointed Executive Assistant to the President of Washington College. In 1996, he was promoted to Vice President for Administration, and in 2001 he was promoted to his present position of Executive Vice President. In this capacity, he serves as the principal assistant to the College President and coordinates the work of the College's Senior Staff and of the Board of Visitors and Governors.

Mr. Holt serves on the Boards of Chester River Craft and Art, the Schooner Sultana Project, and the Kent County United Way.
